Subacture Rupture coil and Pipeline Shield Treatment

With Erez Nossek, MD

Nice example of coil/Pipe Shield treatment.  Presentation is subacute rupture — patient presented 2.5 weeks later for treatment.  No treatment was performed at time of original rupture.   ACOM is post rupture. MCA is incidental

Working projection

Post coil — this is very good but incomplete coiling for sure — but that’s what plug and Pipe is about.

Post Pipe Shield

MCA — important to oversize the pipe a bit here.  See how the M1 proximally is not as wide as distally? Why is that?  What are the implications for Rx?

Post — stasis in the MCA one

BTW, this is one of those bifurcationless MCAs — everything is coming from a single trunk.
